Shell Lake

Todd & Nic Bertoia invited us up to their cabin at Big Shell Resort to spend a few days with them before the Bertoia Family Reunion. The cabin is beatiful, set back 100 metres from the lake. While Gena & Bluey would have a 'few' catch up drinks with Tod and Nic, Brandt, Jackson, Bailey and I would be out on the canoe fishing, or casting off the dock.

On the first day there, the first thing Bailey and I wanted to do was go out on the boat and ride the tubes. Todd and Nic had the Taj Mahal of all tubes, a 7-manner along with their 2 man flat tube. We spent no less then 3 hours out there, Bluey even made an appearance on both tubes!

That night, after we had gone fishing, we mucked about at the cabin. It was nice and calm on the water so we decided we should go knee-boarding. 20 minutes into it though, we had to leave because a big electrical storm started.

The next day was less exciting, it rained most of the day so we went into town and played a couple of rounds of mini-golf. Todd looked like Happy Gilmore, playing in an old Hockey jersey (and looking at the scores, he may have putted like him too). That night we had a feed of fish, Brandt and I eating one of the fish we had caught earlier in the day. We then played ladder golf (Nic & Gena were ridiculously competitive), ate S'mores, and laughed at Bluey and Todd trying to play 'Just Dance' to finish the night.

Gena & Bluey were going home the next day while Bailey & I stayed at the lake. That morning, before they left, Brandt, Bailey and I went out fishing on the canoe, and while we were about 100 metres from shore, we tipped the canoe, had to swim it back to shore, fully clothed. Not much fun. The day turned out turned out alright though since we got a whole day of knee-boarding in.

After 4 days at Big Shell, we were finished and off to the Bertoia Family Reunion for our last weekend with the Bertoia's.
