We jumped on a chartered bus in Cut Knife - there was 21 of us and took the trip across to Regina to watch the Saskatchewan Roughriders take on the Edmonton Eskimos in the Roughriders home opener for 2012.

It was a pretty excited group that hopped on the bus with Esky's full, decked out in Roughrider green (except for Dave & Gage who were our token Eskimos). The ladies painted everyones faces or planted them with stickers. The 5 hour bus ride brought a few undone - it is fair to say that Kim was a bit vocal leading up to the start of the game. It is also the first time I have ever been to a game to witness a patron being carried out at the 5 minute mark of the first quarter - but the guy sitting about 6 rows in front of us couldn't even walk. As for Kim, we didn't see him after half time although somehow he didn't get himself kicked out, he actually managed to find his way down and sat right behind the Roughriders bench?
As for the game itself, it has quite a few different rules from American Gridiron but was easy enough to pick up. Unfortunately it was a very defensive game and didn't really get exciting until about 2 minutes to go. The Roughriders holding on for a dour 17-1 victory to start their season 2-0.
