Gopher Hunting

For my birthday we decided that we should go Gopher Hunting with Kim's .22's and his old mate Bob's 2 rifles. It was a 30 minute drive to the hunting area, the whole trip Bailey, Tylan, Caleb and I riding in the tray of the pick-up. When we made it to the field, it was swarming with Gophers, literally hundreds of them! The adults told us that we would shoot until we got bored or until we ran out of ammunition (about 1250 bullets). Five hours later, we were out of ammunition and shot no less then 3-400 gophers. Old Bob reckoned the farmer whose land we were on would be very happy with our days work.

Once this was done we went back, had steaks for dinner, went for a ride on the quads, and lastly, Rhonda brought me an ice-cream cake decorated with Canadian maple leafs. It looked great and tasted even better. Overall I'd have to say, it's not a birthday I'm gonna be forgetting any time soon!
