Atton's Lake

This week we are spending time at the family cabin at Atton's Lake. It is about a 40 minute drive from Kim & Rhonda's. Kim lent Bluey his F-350 and his boat and we set off for the week (although we have come back tonight to catch up with Kim's brother and his family). The weather on day 1 was a bit ordinary, so we didn't take the boat out but as it fined up in the evening, we decided to take a walk down to the golf club for a look. Here we ran into other friend's of Kim & Rhonda that we have met since we got here. They were about to head out for a round of golf, and asked us to join them - so we did. Bailey played with the left handers, Heath, Mia, Hayden and Gage in the first group and Riley and I played in the right handers group with Dave, Nicole and Omily. the course was not too dissimilar from Royal Churchill so we felt right at home. After the golf, Gena had met up some old friends from when she was here 21 years ago. Lorne & Bonita and their kids Brayden & Mac. For those who met him, Brayden spent a few weeks living with us on a couple of occasions last year. We ended up back at their cabin for a quick drink and ended up getting home at 3am. It is fair to say Gena pulled up a bit second hand on day 2 - in fact she wasn't much use to anyone till about 3pm. The weather was pretty average anyway, so a big family card game got underway. Not sure if anyone in Australia has played Rummoli before but we will certainly be introducing it to all our friends when we get home. Today, the weather was superb. We were up early and had the boat on the lake by 10am. We were the only boat on the lake and the water was flat - until Bluey cranked up the throttle with Riley & Bailey hanging off the back on the tube. Bluey was taking pleasure in dumping the boys repeatedly as they bounced across the wake as he snaked about the lake.`
