Bertoia Family Reunion

The weekend of the 27/28/29th was the date for the first ever Bertoia Family Reunion. Stettler, Alberta was the chosen venue and off to Ol' MacDonalds Farm we ventured. Taylor towed the boat and had Rhonda, Maddison and Gena as sidekicks for the 3.5 hour drive. Kim had been working 18 hour days all week, so Bluey was towing the 5th wheel (Caravan in Aussie talk) in the F350, with Kim riding shotgun and Riley and Bailey riding along.

We were travelling in convoy with the girls leading the way, but of course being female (and having a heavier right foot than men) they had disappeared from view pretty quickly. The main reason we lost the girls was that they had spotted a Tim Horton's and just had to pull in for a feed and some Coffee. For those following us in Australia, we will explain about Tim Horton's when we get home (we are also investigating bringing Timmy's back to Australia with us) - fair to say that we have all fallen in love with their Coffee and Tim Bits!

For 3 days, our weekend consisted of meeting lots of Bertoias, learning new drinking games (which will certainly be introduced to Australia on our return), which included Frisbeer, Dodge Beer, Beer Pong, Ladder Golf and Bones. Thanks to Rhonda's organisation, we ate like Kings, we also spent time on the lake, either tubing or sitting (and having a drink) in the party barge. We had to learn to drink coffee with Kahlua instead of milk in the mornings, drinking spirits throughout the day out of travel mugs and then playing more drinking games. A great weekend with a lot of laughs and a great way to bring our time with the Bertoia's to a close.
