8 hour drive from Reno, NV to Las Vegas, NV so we were pretty glad to get to Vegas to be able to stretch our legs, although we overstretched them, I think! After checking in we went to dinner and whilst there we decided to take a walk down the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.). 4 hours later we going back to the hotel, we were all wearing thongs, it was 1:30 in the morning, none of us had showered. Our room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but our whole floor in the 'Circus Circus Casino' stunk of smoke. When we walked into the room you couldn't breathe without a shirt over your mouth, disgusting.
Now it was 2:15am and we were ringing up the front desk to complain. They agreed that it was not right but they couldn't swap us into another room this late (or early?). We managed to get through the night, just. We didn't wake until 10:30 so it was a quick clean-up of our stuff and onto the floor above us, it was like heaven compared to our old one!
Bailey and Riley decided they had to check out the 'Adventure Dome', the cities largest indoor theme park, which is part of the Circus Circus Casino. After a gander and a couple of games of air hockey, Gena decided it was a nice day out, time for some retail therapy. Nice day out, yeah good one Mum. Try something more like permanent sauna. I have decided that Las Vegas' population don't come out in the day because they've partied all night - it's because it's so damn hot!
After a 4-5 hours of running between shops, (literally running, the less time spent out in the sun, the better!) we gratefully got back into the car to go back to the hotel. We had planned to see 'Mystére' by Cirque de Soleil, but it had sold out. Plan B was just as good though! We went and saw 'Human Nature', why come across the world to see a few Aussies sing Motown? Trust me it was well worth it! It was great!
Since then we have just got home from drive up and down the strip, much nicer then walking! Trying to convince Bluey and Gena to buy us tickets to see 'Criss Angel' at the 'Luxor Casino'. More photos from Vegas can be found in the 'Nevada' page.
The Palazzo Casino
Bellagio Casino, notice that you can see through the trees?
