Dad had a busy day travelling across to the other side of LA to pick up Hire Car that we will be using for the next 4 months. He was gone for about 4 hours all up. But the car should be perfect.
The first baseball game we went to was the L.A Angels vs NY Yankees (posted about it earlier) and the Angels had a win. It was the first baseball game I've ever been to and with the seats we had it was a great experience! Unfortunately no home runs were hit our way but we did see Albert Pujols (the best hitter in Baseball) hit a huge home run which had all of us out of our seats! Apparently, nobody has ever successfully got the Wave up and going around Angel Stadium before. A couple of locals recruited Bailey and I to help them get it going. Will have photos up of the game and our attempt at the wave soon.

Next on the agenda was to take the car and head up to Hollywood to see the Universal Studios. We got there, got our tickets and even though we were there 30 minutes after opening it was fairly empty. First thing we did was the House of Horrors and well, one of the more scarier things I've done in my life! In one spot I got that scared that I just hit the deck before I knew it. I was smart enough to get out of their before more people started chasing me but Bailey just froze, he couldn't move at all! Bluey ended up having to pick him up and carry him through. Right at the end you were in a 'Saw' Movie(s) scene, and you went through a plastic curtain and a man appeared from behind a dead body and shoved his big old (running) chainsaw in your face. I saw him so I turned and warned Bailey, he knew it was gonna happen but still when he walked through their and the man attacked him he still screamed his lungs out....... but the loudest scream of all at that point went to Gena - an absolute blood curdler.
After that we enjoyed the day, seeing nearly every show - all of them great - the highlight I thought was the guided tour through the Hollywood Backlot. We went on all the rides Universal had to offer. The Mummy Returns was a pretty wild ride - both forwards and in reverse, but their latest addition is the Transformers -3D ride which was brilliant. You feel like you are part of a Transformers movie.
That night though we were going to see our beloved L.A Dodgers play against the Milwaukee Brewers (baseball again). Our seats were awesome, again, but unfortunately the Dodgers lost. We nearly had a big highlight though when André Ethier (player for the Dodgers) threw a ball into the crowd that missed Bailey and I by no more then 5 metres. That would have definitely been framed!
Today though we have packed up our bags and made the trip from Aneheim, L.A to Down Town San Diego. We arrived at about 1:00pm, checked in, got our room sorted, and went for a look around, getting a sense for our surroundings. At 5:00pm however we were paid a visit from a couple we met in L.A, Gary & Sharlene. We went to dinner with them at this awesome Italian Restaurant (Fellipi's) in the 'Little Italy' district. Áfter eating we ended up back at Gary & Sharlene's. They showed us around before Gary sat Bailey and I down to watch a movie on their huge T.V. Before we knew it, Gary came out with the best cookies I had ever tasted! While we were watching the movie Gary didn't only cook us cookies but taught Gena how he made them too. That wasn't all though, Sharlene had been showing Bluey her terrific scrapbooks, and showed him all the great sights and things we could do while we in the Washington DC area later in our trip. By the time we left, we had 32 cookies, a cookbook, an ice-cream scoop, a heap of maps and a great evening!
More photos coming soon, sorry for such a big block of writing but it's the first time I've had the chance for a few days so I had to get it all in.
~Riley.
